WHAT’S IN A NAME??? When your name is on your business, it’s everything! When my husband, Jeff Markham, and I started doing business as Markham Realty in 1971, we were young, green and full of excitement and ideas. We knew from the very beginning that we wanted to enjoy our jobs and in order to do that we needed to treat people with respect, compassion and give them everything we had to give, plus a little bit more.
Our first offices were in Porter and New Caney, Texas and in 1981 we relocated MARKHAM REALTY to Huntsville, Texas because we loved the scenery, location and, most importantly, the community. That was 35 years ago and we are proud to say that we still operate with the same work ethic today.
Amazingly, our son Kevin Markham and his wife, Cindy AND our son David Markham and his wife, Kathy, have chosen to be a part of our business. It’s pretty wonderful that our entire family has put roots down right in the heart of WALKER COUNTY.
Then, of course, there is our extended family of agents and staff who continue to help us serve the real estate needs of our clients/friends. Roberta Plant and Natalie Cox are gifted agents with lots of Markham Realty years under their belts. We aren’t the biggest office around, but we do constantly work toward being the best.
Our motto, for many years, has been “WE LOVE TO SELL REAL ESTATE AND WE’RE GOOD AT IT!” Are we bragging?? Probably so, but when you devote your entire career conscientiously, each and every day, to going to your office and offering the best real estate services you possibly can, the results, just naturally, will be good.
So, it is with immense gratitude that I share a little of the wonderful history of MARKHAM REALTY, INC. Our name is on the business and it matters to us that our clients think we do a good job for them. Real estate changes, needs change, economies change but, we hope to always be the type of real estate company that is dependable.
